Do you recall seeing anything about a Martin Van Buren Tibbets who married Elizabeth Basket Haslett (not sure of the spelling of the married name prior to MVT). He was supposedly the father of Sylvester "Vess" Tibbett who was my great grandfather. Vess died in 1920 when my grandfather, Oliver Cecil "Pete" Tibbett was a young boy. Pete was raised by a foster family in Russellville, Arkansas, by the name of Lueker. We have no idea what happened to his older brothers, William, Johnny and Lawrence Barton. We do know that Lawrence Barton was living in Ft. Smith, AR, and died in the late 50s shortly after he and Pete reconnected, if I'm not mistaken. Rumor has it that he died on the way to North Little Rock, AR, to visit with Pete. We know nothing of William and Johnny. I'm hoping you may have some information that can help us. I look forward to hearing from you.
