TIBBETS ELVA LOU, age 68, died Tuesday at her home following a courageuos battle with heart disease. She was born on March 4, 1933 in Laredo, TX to the late Homer and Elva Lou Martin. She graduated from Premont High School in 1951. On June 20, 1953 she was united in marriage to Bill Tibbets. During their 48 years marriage, Lou and Bill raised five children while moving extensively throughout their career with Mobil Oil. Lou enjoyed the many friendships made in the years spent in West Texas, Libya and Norway before setting in Richardson, TX in 1979 and retiring to Lake Fork, TX in 1986. Lou is survived by her husband, Bill Tibbets; her oldest son, Paul; her second son and his wife, Mark and Robin; her daughter and her husband, Joanie and Buford Collier; her third son and his wife. Adam and Jodi; her youngest son and his wife, William and Tina; seven grandchildren. Cole, Michael, Daryl, Aidan and Carter Tibbets, Dallas, TX; Matt Lyon and Jacob Collier, Tyler, TX; her brothers, Richard Martin of Chichasha. OK and Homer Martin, Jr. of Lakewood, CO; and her nice and her husband, Kelly and Jeff Gilliam, Dallas, TX. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents, Lou was preceded in death by two brothers: Jim and Bob Martin. Funeral Services for Lou Tibbets will be held at 10:00AM, Friday, August 10, 2001 at the Beaty Funeral Home Chapel in Winnsboro. TX. Burial will follow at the Lee Cemetery with the Rev. Kevin Hollowell officiating. Relatives and friends are welcome for visitation Thursday evening from 6-8pm at the Funeral Hone. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
