My thought--first son was named James Norton Tibbetts. Named after grandfather? uncle? mother's side? father's side? Do you have any Norton's marrying other Tibbetts? There are no James at all on F. (Deane) Tibbets side. First dau. (Lydia) was named after her mother and only two other dau. were named for sisters (Martha and Frances I,). Speculating if F.R. father was 20-30, are there any James Tibbets b. 1760-1775?
