Dr. John P. Tibbits b. 2 May 1806 in NY? is my ggggrandfather.I have some information about him, but have run up against so many dead ends, I am not sure how reliable it is.His eldest daughter Adelia Tibbits Ogden b. 15 November 1830 PA is my ancestor.I believe she was a half sister to Laura who was his youngest daughter.I have been searching for information about Adelia's maternal ancestors and possibly other siblings from John's first union.
John married Rachel Bartlett (who is supposedly related Josiah Bartlett - signer of Declaration of Independence) m.23 October 1832, Jefferson County Ohio. John attended medical schools in Pennsylvania and Ohio.He and wife Rachel had four children that I am aware of Flavilla (Flavia), Laura, Lyman, and Ransom.

Photos and historical notes of Tibbits and family are on file and on display at Columbia State Park Museum in California. There is also a website photograph of son Lyman Tibbits home in Columbia.

They raised a family of boys.
