My information shows that "Rorie" was once "Mackrorie." The family migrated to America in the 1600's from the Scottish lowlands (Scotland/England border), first to Virginia--near George Washington's Mt. Vernon, then to Anson County, White Store, North Carolina. The old plantation is still there, though not in the Rorie family. The old Rorie cemetery is at White Store. I'm the G-G grandson of Hezekiah Rorie and Louisa (pronounced Lou-I-sa) Ticer Rorie.
