LEWIS BROCK TYSOR
Hello,
Just to let you know, a monument will be dedicated March 10,2007 to the 26th North Carolina Regiment for their particpation in the Battle of New Bern, NC. One of the men of this regiment was Lewis Brock Tysor , of Moore County, NC. He would be one of those who would fall in the futile defense of New Bern. His name will appear on the monument.
My name is Dennis Brooks and Lewis Brock Tysor was a half-brother to my g-g grandmother , Mary George Petty;both having the same mother.
Lewis Brock Tysor was the son of the Rev. Harris Tysor and the g-son of Lewis Tysor-- all of which are the Tysor's of Old Chatham book by Broughton.
I am a resident of Chatham County NC and will assist you in connection to families of Chatham if possible.
By the way, Lewis Brock Tysor's body was returned home and is buried in the Tysor Family Cemetery near the Chatham-Moore line near present day "Glendon" NC.
Dennis Brooks
