Dedra
For many years I have been searching for Christopher Columbus Ticer was my grandfather. The 1870 census Waynesboro TN shows J.N. (John Newton)52, wife Sarah M. 46, Christopher C. 16, John H. 9, Allen C. 6, Louisa E. 3. By 1880 we find Chris in Searcy AR with a wife Mary J. (Norman) and Sarah E. 10 mo old.
When his dad died and his mother remarried, grandad left TN to AR. Later when her husband died grandad went back to TN to get his mother and the three younger siblings to AR. The only of grandad's family that my mom remembered were these three and she knew there were two older girls left in TN and that one of them died in TN in a tragic accident It seems likely there were also older boys but I don't remember mother talking about them. The only one of these I remember is Aunt Lottie (Louisa E.).
I have been told that John Newton's father was John born 1782 but have no documentation beyond John Newton. If you can use any of what I have just let me know. I would truly appreciate any names and dates you care to share.
