My gg grandmother was Harriett Adelaide TICER, b. 8-8-1838 in Keownville, Union Co, MS. She d. September 1913 and was buried 9-25-1913 in Ripley, Tippah Co, MS. She married James M. SMITH & was his 2nd wife. Their children were: Walter Leonard who m. Annie Eliza Whitehead (W.L. born 1864, Orizaba, MS; d. 1946 OKC, OK). They were my great grandparents. Louis Pinkney b. ca. 1867; Adolph,d. at 50, never married; William, d. at 30, never married; Ella m. Joseph E. Brown (he wrote a history of Tippah Co, MS) on 10-10-1894; Blanche, b. 1872 & m. 5-1-1890 to A.Michael Young; Maud, m. William Shannon; Hattie m. ____ Bennett.

Harriett Adelaide TICER's parents were James TICER (b. 1802, SC) and Harriett Kendrick (b. 1811 or 1813 in TN). The children of James & Harriett TICER were: Elvira, b. 1834, AL; Amanda, b. 1836, AL; James (P?), b. 1837, AL; Harriett Adelaide, b. 8-8-1838 in Keownville, Union Co, MS; Almira, b. 1840, MS; and Marshall, b. 1845. This family was listed in the 1850 census of Tippah Co, MS, District 2, 9-25-1850.

I also have some information from my great aunt about "Cousin Will Ticer," only some personal information about him at age 96; nothing about his family.

Any help or information about this family would be greatly appreciated. I have a little more info than shown here. I don't know where in SC James TICER was born, or just when he went to AL.

Becky Smith
