Ok, well the reason Edward Tiffin is of interest to people
on this forum is that he is related to the American Tiffins and is an interesting person in American history.
Edward was born around Workington some where and the source of that record is that he and his brother
Henry were baptised at St. Michael's Church in Workington after their birth.
There were other Tiffin members of that church.
The books say that he was born in Carlisle, but church records found in Carlisle Castle (now moved) show that he was baptised in St. Michael's, Workington. So it is assumed that he was born somewhere near there, since it is over 40 miles from Carlisle. I could not find a record of his parents being married in St. Michael's though and have not found their birth records. We know from the two books on Edward Tiffin that his father Henry died in 1807 and his mother died in 1810 in Ohio. Edward was important in Ohio history.
