My g grandmother was Jane Tildesley christened 16/7/1826 at Forton, Staffordshire. Her parents were: Charles Tildesley and Mary nee Chilton who married 30 Dec 1813 at Norbury.
There has been a book published 'The Tildesleys of Staffordshire'by Norman Tildesley. Without digging it out I think it was around 1920s. It has lots of old Wills etc, packed full of heaps of information including arather large family tree that goes back to 1525. I aquired a photocopy of it years ago from a guy in London who got permission to copy it for me. If you are interested I will see if I can locate him and see if I can get permission to copy it for you. or you could see if your local library can locate a copy for you.So much info in it that its hard to take in all at once.
