I am related to the Tiley family whose history has been traced back in the village of Clutton Near Bristol, Somerset to the early seventeenth century. There are two branches of the family in the village due to my great great grandfather remarrying and it was a large family. My grandmother's maiden name was Tiley and there are still many members of the family around of both branches. Your best contact would be Charles Tiley, Mendip House, Lower Bristol Rd., Northend, Clutton, Bristol. Most of the Tileys worked in the Earl of Warwick's Clutton coal mines or as estate workers since the E of W owned land in the parish. The family is well documented.
Hope this helps

Eric Brain
