I am not related to the Tilghman family. I am researching the pioneer cemetery in Durango, Colorado in which a "Mr. Tilman" was buried in October 1877. He has the distinction of being the cemetery's first known burial, yet until today, nobody knew exactly who he was. I finally got a lead by reading through our county's earliest recorded documents and everything started falling into place.
