Origin of FIRST name for Tilghman Hardy Burnes

My ggg-gfather was Tilghman Hardy Burnes, b. 1805 in Tennessee. His parents (Frederick Augustus Burnes and Barbara Hardy) had come from Prince Georges County, Maryland, via Loudoun County, Virginia, to Tennessee.

I'm trying to figure out where the first name came from. Was there a prominent Tilghman around that time in any of those three states (Tennessee, Virginia, Maryland)? Or was there a large Tilghman family in Tennessee?

Any educated guess would be welcome!
