Seek genealogical dates and information about Benjamin S. TILGHMAN (or TILLKIN), who married Sarah MCILVEAN (or MCILWEAN) (28 July 1809-13 September 1874) on 20 June 1826 in Craven County, NC—in New Bern, NC, at the house of a Mrs. NIXON. I do not know how or when the marriage ended between Benjamin and Sarah. Sarah later married Alonzo Thomas JERKINS (2 June 1807-7 April 1895), of New Bern, NC, on 6 July 1831 at Fort Barnwell, NC. Both Sarah and Alonzo Thomas JERKINS are buried in the John Durand FLANNER plot (near the Confederate obelisk) in Cedar Grove Cemetery in New Bern, NC.
