Just getting started, Living in Japan

I am just getting started with my family tree. Unfortunately my father is dead and my mother is useless. My father's name was Edward Ernest Tilley Sr., born Sept. 26, 1935, in Abington Pennsylvania. He died on Oct. 5, 1995 in Tampa, Florida. All I can remember is that he had a brother Stanley (deceased - when ?) and a brother James who I believe is living somewhere in Massachusetts (this is about 6 years old though). I would appreciate any assistance offered. This forum can sure help me trying to research from Japan.
