My family line of Tilleys came from Surrey England. Thomas Tilley and his wife Mary Ann Tilley (Woodham) and two sons Thomas Henry and William came to Australia in 1851 on the ship "Slains Castle". Thomas Snr was 21 yrs at the time. His birth and marriage place is listed as Surrey. Thomas Snr had at least 3 brothers and 3 sisters.He arrived in Australia as a gardener. I was very interested to hear about that 1881 census. The name George and Thomas appear alot in my family line.
