hi, the Lazarous Tilley , son of Henry Tilley, was born 1759 or 1760 in King George Col. VA. and moved to Orange Co. NC when he was a small boy. On July 7,1832, lazarous and his wife, elizabeth, filed for pension. at that time he was 72 or 73. he was drafted into the NC militia for 3 months in 1780-81 in Orange co. NC where he served his time. Later that year he was drafted again and marched through the territories of Wake and Cumberland in NC in pursuit of the Tories. Lazarous is listed in State Census of NC 1784-1787 page 150. His children are: nellie, henry,joel a. Sr., Aaron Burr Tilley, Thomas Jefferson, Moses,Elley;Frances; Nancy for more information please email or look in the stokes co. nc historical book. these are very good refernces and can be purchased at the court house in Danbury, NC. they have volume I & IIThis information is in vol.I
