William Emerson married a lady named Mary. As was the tradition among the Emersons, a son is named after the maiden name of the mother. They have a son named Tilley Emerson which leads me to believe that Mary's maiden name may as well be Tilley. She was born about 1721 in Caroline Co. Virginia. She married William Emerson and they relocated to Two Mile Creek, Clark County, Kentucky. E-mail me with any info. thanks.
