I am seeking confirmation and additional information in regards to the family of Joseph Orcutt that was listed in the 1820 federal census for Gallatin County, Ky. Trimble County, Ky., was formed from a portion of Gallatin Co., in 1837, and it may be that the family of Joseph Orcutt found themselves in Trimble County after 1837 as a result of the county line change. Harriet,(Married Moses Tilley ca 1830 TRimble Co., Ky or Marion Co., IN.), Cyrus, and Julia Ann are proven to be connected, and Asenath and Josiah are both found in Indiana, and are both listed as born Kentucky. The families of William Hammer Orcutt in Campbell County, Ky., and also James Orcutt in Lewis Co. are the only other Orcutt families I have found in Kentucky in this early period, and these two persons, Asenath and Josiah, don't seem to connect to either, thus for the time being I am considering that they are more likely connected with Joseph in Gallatin Co. Two other male children of Joseph in the 1820 Census have yet to be identified. I would appreciate greatly hearing from anyone that has information about any of these New York/Kentucky/Indiana Orcutts.
