Paul,

The records of the Georgia Surveyor General's Office for Georgia shows that the lot that John Tilley won in Dooly County reverted (he did not take the lot but it went back to the state).

He later sold the lot he won in Henry Co. and he was still a resident of Early County, GA when he sold the lot. Thus, it appears he never moved onto that land.

I also had looked up all the early colonial grants and headright grants from originals on microfilm for any name even close to Tilley. The original records show that the land granted in Book QQQ, p. 612 and 613 in 1788 was to John TilleRy, not John Tilley. That John Tillery died in Ogelthorpe Co.
