Brenda, I have been trying to find the father of Daniel Tilly (Tilley) who was born in Stokes Co. about 1784. He moved to Spencer Co. IND. abt 1830, and died there in 1857. He married Nancy Lankford in Stokes Co in 1807. Looking at some DAR records, I saw the children of John Tilley listed, except for the oldest who wasn't named. I'm pretty sure that Daniel is the son of one of the Tilleys of Stokes Co. I have some documents that place him in some relation to Bennet Tilley. You indicated you knew the names of the ten children of John. Could the oldest be Daniel, or have you seen the name before? I'm sure you've noticed, in the records, the name was spelled Tilly as often as it was spelled Tilley. Daniel seems to have retained the Tilly spelling when he was in Indiana. My grgrandmother was his daughter Loutitia Tilly.
