Scott,
Hello and welcome.
Yes, I think we all have some of the same basic information.
I searched the Archives for the Confederate soldiers and came up with a John H. Tilley that served in Company H, 15th (NorthWest) Arkansas Infantry. Upon receipt of the military records from NARA, that person was 19 years old when enlisted in Nov, 1861. He was killed at Elkhorn Tavern (part of Pea Ridge battle) in March, 1862. Again, if the age was correct, this could not have been our ancestor.

There were other John Tilley's in other Confederate units. I have not asked for their records yet.

We have oral history passed down to my mother, Esther Pauline Backus Tilley (married Haskell Jimmie Tilley) thru her mother in law, Jamesina Ima Hatcher Tilley (wife of Alfred Thomas Tilley).

If interested, send me an e-mail and I can give you the name and address of a decendent of Floy Tilley who married Homer Burch.
Gary Tilley
Bedford, Tx
