I have information on a Steven Tilley who was born in 1784. He was married to a Catherine Powell in 1806 in Wilkes co. and Died in 1826. Among there children was a Lazarus Tilley. He was reportedly killed while working on a road near Hendersonville.
Also in the 1800 federal census found a Lazarus Tilley and his wife Sarah Davis in Buncombe County. and in 1809he bought 320 acres of land from Owen Owens for $530.00 "on both sides of the Pigeon River," in present day Haywood Co. at Crabtree
Lazarus was the eldest son of Edmund Tilley(1740-1800) Steven was Edmunds Youngest son. I have more Info concerning an estate of Edmund and what he left his two sons. I also hav info on the foward generations through Steven, his son Lewis, And his son George Ausburn Tilley. I have no idea if there are any connection to my family because I'm currently stuck on my tree. I was wondering If you ever heard of an Andrew Lafayette Tilley Born around 1866?
