Hi, Roy:
While parctically 'EVERY' Tillinghast in this country can be traced back to Pardon jr. the emigrant to Rhode Island in 1640,[that is if you look hard enough], names like Avery, Cole, and Saxton [Saxon,Sasson; etc.] become more difficult as they multiply logrithymically and so if you need help you MUST give info on data such as d.o.b; d.o.d.; location;[especially location], etc. While not every piece of data is necessary, the time and place of where they lived is ESSENTIAL. For 4 years I had a break in my Tilinghast line because a Bible record didn't connect the dots, [so to speak] and then one day I picked up a Court Record of a County that I had never heard of and the connection was made. Someone else had been looking at it and put it on the return book cart.
[This stuff is where you find it].So identify your surnames and put it on the message boards[Sole; Saxton; Avery], and lets see what we come up with. I have answered some messages as long as 3 years later, It took that long for the info to come to my attention. And by the way;do you have a copy of Rose Tillinghast's book? LDS has it. I have a copy at home. [Present'ly I'm not home]. Also, get in touch with Todd Laawrence on the message board. He seems to be the 'Tillinghast Historian'. Regards;Elton
