Mary TIMMINS b.1809 Ire transported to NSW 1829
Mary Timmins born abt 1809 in County Laois Ireland daughter of Thomas Timmins, was convicted of
larceny at Carlow in Aug 1827 and sentenced to 7 years transportation. Leaving Cork on 1 Jan 1829
for Sydney NSW Australia in the ship Edward (1) arriving 26 April 1829. She was granted a
Certificate of Freedom in 1834. In 1830 she had been granted a Certificate to Marry Thomas Buxton
(a free convict) and had 10 children up to 1851. The Buxton's became highly respected in their new
home of Newcastle NSW.Mary died in 1884.Any contacts out there ?
