Carol,
I'm glad I saw this post.I've been wondering about these relationships and have imagined them in the same light as what you outline here.
But have you noticed a younger Jeremiah Tindell in the same are in TN?I've got an 1820 Census that lists just two members of household.1 male 16/25 and 1 female 16/25.
This would mean both members of this house were born between 1795 and 1804.Was there a Jeremiah JR?...because Charles father was born around 1750 which would have made him 70 in an 1820 census.
The 1790 census I have on Jeremiah Tindell (the elder one) in Guilford, North Carolina, seems to show himself and his wife along with 2 other white females (no age group specified) and 5 males under the age of 16. Charles would have been about 5 years old...so there would have been 4 other boys in the house.Now...if there were a Jeremiah Jr of the age in the 1820 TN census I metioned...he would not have been born by this NC census yet.Possible?
Any confirmation...or ideas on this theory? Also, could you point me to any deed records you know of for land purchases and other transactions between Jeremiah Tindell and others?I am not able to find them so far.If you could point me in the direction I would really appreciate it.Thanks so much!
