My interest/line is as follows:
My maternal grandmother was Mary Estelle (Mamie)Ashley (married Banks Oakley) who was the daughter of John Ashley and Albania (Allie) Tingen. Allie was a daughter of Joseph P. Tingen and Mary Evans; John was the son of Harrison Ashley and Janis James(sp). John Ashley was a brother of Charles Russell Ashley who is antecedent of Thomas Markham. I have found more information on the Tingen family than the Ashley family. Allie died at a young age and John Ashley remarried and they had several children. If you have information on either family I will be very appreciative. Also, any information about the James or Evans families would be of great interest. My mother's family has maintained some contact with Tingens who live in Wake county area.
