Thomas Markham has a wonderfull site that will give you a great deal of information which is a very good starting point.
Also, I have copies of the 1850 through 1880 Census forms for Ambrose H Tingen and some of his children (I don't have Effie yet but I will see what I can find) and would be very happy to try to email them or make copies and send them regular mail. I also have census forms for Ambrose's brother William W and some of his children as well, as they were both my GG- Grandfathers.
Me (D/O), Phillip Thomas Tingen (S/O), William Henry Tingen (now it gets confusing so see Paternal and Maternal below)
William Henry Tingen, (S/O Paternal) John Henry Tingen (S/O), Ambrose Harrison Tingen (S/O), Garret Robert Tingen "The Immigrant" and Joanna (Duncan) Tingen.
William Henry Tingen (S/O Maternal), Martha Tingin (D/O) William W - Walter or Walker - Tingin (S/O) Garret Robert Tingen "The Immigrant" and Joanna (Duncan) Tingen.
Something to remember: I have found my "TINGEN" ancestors under the following spellings - Tingen, Tingin, Tangen, Lingen. Since there are still some out there I haven't found, I pressume there are other "mis-spellings" as well.
I would be VERY HAPPY to share information.
Tracey (Tingen) Triska
