Susan, Wanda is right. The best way is to share the research, and record keeping. Be glad you have someone to share with. Also, it may not be a pleasant thought, but assuming your uncle is older than you, you will probably outlive him, and end up the primary researcher in your family at some point. In the meantime, there's no reason you shouldn't both have copies of all records. If you both have original documents, provide each other with copies. The main thing is not to let the question of record keeping come between you. You would both stand to lose a lot in that event. You may even have to give in to him on some things that may not seem quite fair, but in the long run will benefit the family as a whole, by preserving the peace. If your uncle is not inclined to share, perhaps quietly keeping your own set of records would be the answer.
