Since this is the Helpful Tips Forum here are a few:
You chances of getting responses will be greater by posting on a Surname Forum.
For Patrick: http://genforum.genealogy.com/patrick/http://genforum.genealogy.com/patrick/
For Tatum: http://genforum.genealogy.com/tatum/http://genforum.genealogy.com/tatum/
Also the state Forums. For Texas: http://genforum.genealogy.com/tx/http://genforum.genealogy.com/tx/
The county is also a good place to post but you need to clarify Lee's birth place as Henderson in Rusk County or Henderson County. You can get the URL of the county from a link off the state Forum.
Another place to look for people is the Social Security Death Index. There is one at http://ssdi.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/ssdi.cgihttp://ssdi.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/ssdi.cgi.
I found a Lee Patrick born 11 Oct 1894, died Feb 1981, last residence Houston. You can do two things with this information. (1) obtain a copy of the persons application for a Social Security Number Form SS-5. This contains personal information of a genealogical nature. If you wanted to get an SS-5 form for the above Lee Patrick, when you locate his/her name on the SSDI search, read across to the "Tools" column and click the link to "SS-5 Letter". (2) You have enough information to obtain the persons death certificate, which in the case of this Lee Patrick person, would come from Texas Vital Records, ordering info at http://www.tdh.state.tx.us/bvs/registra/certcop.htmhttp://www.tdh.state.tx.us/bvs/registra/certcop.htm. A death certificate can also contain genealogical information.
I found Lottie on the SSDI. Her birthday, as reported to Social Security, is 28 Jan 1901. If I needed to know her parents, the SS-5 form and her death certificate would be a good place to start.
If you need "How to" information http://rwguide.rootsweb.com/http://rwguide.rootsweb.com/ is a good place to start. There is a section dealing with censuses which you will find useful. If you have questions of a general nature there is a general Forum at http://genforum.genealogy.com/gen/http://genforum.genealogy.com/gen/ with a lot of experts eager to give advice.
