I don't want to beat this thing to death but here is a link to Microsoft support. It gives instructions for creating an index for a master document in WD 2000:

I haven't tried it yet so I can't say how time consuming it might be in comparison to the old fashioned way. Maybe this is what the ladies are referring to...note that I said maybe, and I don't mention any names.....I don't want to ruffle any feathers. Rick
