Dear Gary,

I used this feature many years ago. I recall it was annoying because you had to switch the order of the names - i.e. Sherry Marshall (some notation) Marshall, Sherry. It did work.

I have also just used the indexing feature of Word with Bible records. I indexed over 500+ pages.

What ever is done it is going to take some time. I think it would take less time than entering everything into a genealogy program.
