Birth, marriage and death records, known as Vital Records (VR), are probably the very first source to be consulted when starting genealogical research. If you can 'go there' there is probably no cost. Most States charge a fee when ordering by mail, email or phone, but gathering the available VR on your immediate ancestors is overall a time and money saving step. It is sad that so few people bother to take this first step. The VR are not all on the web.
I bet you are a sucessful researcher.
