The problem is that whatever system you use will have an overload point.

I started with paper in the 1980s. I really do not like the genealogy program formats. I like 'Register Form' with footnotes or I will even take NGS format with (inline citations.)

It depends ... on what the final product you wish. I insist on complete sources. So practically none of my research is computerized. It is very time consuming to prepare a report to my liking.

I guess all systems have flaws. I ran out of file cabinets and bookcases after 15 years of research. But I really had fun.
