Cathy,

I often attach additonal information to a file (photo) by right clicking on the file, select "properties", then go to the "summary" tab then add all the info you want in the "comments" field. This info will stay with the file regardles of what photo software you are using or if you upload the file to various photo sharing sites. Also, when searching for files, rather than search on the "file name", use the second option "a word or phrase in the file" and your search will be performed on the comments field as well.

This can be interesting when someone shares a photo with you and you see comments you posted in the file years ago!
