If you have already contacted the Arkansas Department of Health to search for a death certificate, then the next place I would try is to look for an obituary or death notice in the local newspapers for the area where they were living when she died. You might also look for an estate/probate record, although it wasn't common back then for women to have an estate probated if their husband was still alive.
