Carter, Jonathan David Davis Kilpatrick-will dated 23 Apr 1857
Land I own in Carroll Co., Tenn to my wife Margaret Elizabeth Carter, and my children, to wit, Ettsebert Preston Tarater Carter, Addison Leander Fillmore Carter, Nathalia Adaline Carter, Amelia Ethel Josephine Carter, John William Ringgold Carter and Rebecca Carter, my mother, to be held in common by them until my youngest heir be of age and then to be divided equally among them. Mother living in Carroll Co. Tenn.
240 acres of land in Texas Co. Mo. on which I now reside to my wife and children above named. Exrs, wife Margaret Elizabeth Carter and my mother, Rebecca Carter. Wit: E. McKinney & John B. Campbell. Signed: Jonatan D.D.K. Carter. Rec. 5 May 1857.
