Gerry,
Am filing away papers to pack and throwing out others, and came across an ARVEN ( could be AVEN ) family that connected to the DUPLIN CO. NC ROGERS and STEPHENS/ STEVENS families. Try looking at both Duplin Co. NC, and SAMPSON Co. NC for these Rogers who are out of PELEG ROGERS ( Sr. ) and wife ISABELLA BRAND. The STEPHENS connected to them somehow and later on we see their Stevens/ Stephens cousins in Anson Co. NC where my ROGERS lived prior to moving to Carroll Co. TN. So far we cannot prove that our JAMES ROGERS Sr. is son of PELEG ROGERS and ISABELL BRAND. But the time may be right to be him, and he may have gone back to Duplin Co. NC and died there. If not, it is just a coincidence that our JAMES ROGERS Sr. of ANSON CO. NC had a son also named JAMES ROGERS Jr. as did the JAMES ROGERS ( Sr. ) of DUPLIN CO. NC. WE have a lot of ISABELLA 's too in our ROGERS lines. These are the DUPLIN CO. NC ROGERS who were out of RHODE ISLAND to Wilmington NC then to DUPLIN CO. NC. James Sr. was also in Sampson Co. NC as well, which is just east of ANSON.

We might also find that our JAMES ROGERS Sr. was out of DOBBS CO. NC which became JOHNSTON CO. NC later on. I don't have time now to do any research on this but you might try looking at those Duplin Co. NC Rogers some more.

Tina
