BURKS
My great grandfather's name was Joe Burks. He was married to Melvina. I think her maiden name was Rackley. The only children I'm aware of are:
Warner,(only know 1 son-Charles-)
Homer,
Howard,
Evvie,(2) daughters (Christine Scott, Helen Scott)
Ginny,
Lennie or "Jodie".
Joseph & Melvina's (or Melviney as my mother pronounces it) children were all born in the early 1900's. These spellings are from my mother's memory & may vary.
I've been searching for more information on the Burks-Wilson link. 2 of Joe's daughters married Wilson brothers.
My grandmother, Lennie "Jodie" (b)TN 1909, married Shug Wilson (b)1894 (d)1934 buried in Wilder Cemetery (1) child: Carl Joe Thomas Wilson. Jodie (m)2. Clarence Welch. Both buried in Dayton, Ohio.
Ginny married 1.Kye Wilson, not sure of the spelling.(4)children: Casto, Opal, Jewel & James. All Wilsons. Ginny (m)2. Lonzo McCoy. No children.

My great grandfather's name was Thomas Wilson. Don't have his wife's name....They had 5 sons:
Shug, Frank, Kye, Keeler, Henry R.
Counties mother mentioned possible are: Fentress, Cumberland, Overton & maybe Putnam county. Probably anything in the vicinity!
If anyone out there has information on either family I would love to hear from you!!! I'm not having any luck with other areas of search, so I figured the best place to find my people is through FAMILY:)
