Do you know of a connection between the William Cross family you mention and Fred S. Cross, who was also in the 1880 census for Fayette County (listed as Fed Cross). Fred S. Cross (initial S. unknown) had a son named William. As I have been unable to connect this man to any of the Cross families present prior to 1880, I have been curious as to the possibility of him coming from Sullivan County. Fred S. Cross was a blacksmith, as were many of the other Crosses from that area. Thanks!
