Looking for any information on a Luke Martin of Greene Co, TN. This is just a guess of mine, but I believe the Luke Martin who first appears in Montgomery Co, KY in the 1823 tax list came thru Greene Co, TN. A Luke Martin does appear in the 1809 Greene Co, TN tax list (the only one I've seen). Luke Martin was born around 1770 and his wife's name may be Mary or Polly and they may have been married in the Greene County area before 1793.
In a generic question, where does one easily fine the tax lists for eastern Tennessee (Greene and other counties)? I live in central KY and wonder if any have been published in books or there are microfilms that are distributed thru interlibrary loans.
