CENSUS YR: 1850 STATE or TERRITORY: TN COUNTY: Hardeman REEL NO: M432-881 PAGE NO: 160b

=====

First thing is please excuse my mistake on your given name - I should recall by now the memory is sometimes not reliable. Anyway, Diana, on the 1850 census online the above FOSTER is spelled Faster and the father is spelled ISSAH, 58 and born NC. His daughter, Louisa, is 14 and will marry the JOHN MCKEE at line 36 after Zilpha, his young wife dies ca 1855. They go to Dyer Co TN after 1860. John McKee's sister, FRANCIS MCKEE, at line 32 is soon to marry JOHN FOSTER at line 15 and they will move to Texas later. There are a number of other Foster and Tillman on the census. Let me know if you need the exact link - it is at www.us-census.org and my hard copy is from April 2002 so I hope the link is still good. The BIZZELL on spelled as BIGGLE on page 146a and these are some of the young folks that married TILLMAN / TILLMON. These people are also connected with GRANTHAM and BENNETT from Wayne Co NC area and CRAWFORD and just about everyone near them on the census. I imagine the given name BRYANT in your family is also the surname BRYANT, later married to my husband's aunt at HR Co TN also. One early researcher told me long ago that these folks all came from the Isle of Wight. My research hasn't gotten there yet. I am interested in these lines as they relate to MCKEE which is my only research interest - my early searching turned up all this other info and I feel the only way to really prove some of these allied families is by their marriages and locations in a constant and consistent pattern for a couple hundred years. However, DNA may get us there much sooner. I think the areas I mentioned in my first post are possibilites for your locations also. Let me know what you think here - I actually prefer online posting to email in the hopes of learning more from other searchers. I would have had virtually no luck early on were if not for GENFORUM AND ROOTSWEB early message boards and ROOTSWEB itself.
