Trina, Following is the same message I sent to your e-mail address a little earlier. I have no problem with corresponding on this genealogy forum-just a little cumbersom and I don't have spell-check on here but it works, and others can read as well. Sent earlier: I checked the 1830 Census of Hardin Co., TN and found George and John Taylor listed, however, in their infinite wisdom the powers that be alphabetized that census and you can't tell where an individual lived in the county. However I am lucky to have a copy of an 1833 Tax List for Hardin County which lists the individuals only by number, but at least you could tell who his neighbors were. 1833 Tax List Hardin Co., TN 430 Henry Cagle, (Jr) 431 George Cagle 432 Henry Cagle Senr. 435 Charles T. Polk 439 John Taylor 608 Henry Cagle 610 James Cagle My great grandfather, John, 1813-1879, was the son of Henry Cagle Jr. who married Eliza Polk, 1816-1873, the daughter of Charles T. Polk. This group all came to Hardin Co., from Mecklenburg-Cabarrus Co., NC beginning as early as about 1822. John Taylor, Henry and James Cagle were not named in the 1836 or 1837 Tax List for Hardin Co., nor the 1840 census. Henry Cagle Sr. died about 1838, Charles T. Polk died in 1839 and Henry Jr and George moved to New Madrid Co., MO in 1838. Someone cut a tree on George who died in 1840 and Henry Jr. died in 1857. I think a list of the children of Henry Cagle Sr and wife, Catherine were: Charles Henry, Jr. David George Eliza Ellen Do you know the name of the person who prepared the ancestor chart you mentioned earlier? Thanks, David Notify Administrator about this message?
