Greetings!

>My husband is Samuel Scottie Easley, son of Edwin Louie Easley, son of Samuel Lee Easley, son of William B. Easley.

Your husband and I are related! Samuel Lee Easley had a brother Lonza J. ("Lon") Easley, who died abt. 1938 in Arkansas. His daughter Hattie Easley (1903-1995) was my grandmother.

Do you know anything at all about William B. Easley's parents/ancestry? I have run into a brick wall every time.

His wife was named Martha Elizabeth Casteel (or Castile) but I am not confident as to her ancestry either.

>His brother has discharge papers from the Union Army for William B. Easley. The story is he was captured by the Union Army and joined ranks with the Union to get out of prison. His son Samuel was born in Illinois about 1868.

This jibes with what I have as well. I will e-mail you!

Thanks,

R. Ben Madison
