An Annual REUNION of descendants of JAMES & PHOEBE RIMMER of Person County, North Carolina USA will be held Saturday, July 26th, 2008. Cousins and family researchers tracing kinship back to the 1700s attend -- from NC, AR, SC, TN, GA, VA, MS, the UK. Fellowship, singing, prayer, mingling & meeting, and presentations will precede and follow a delicious noon meal. Prizes for oldest, youngest, and furthrest traveled are awarded. Family photo albums, Rimmer tree CDs (over 15K individuals now), binders and books, Rimmer cookbooks (newly reprinted with family heirloom photos), and Coats of Arms are available for viewing and sale. While visiting from England, Gladys Rimmer Armstrong and husband Alan will again join us! Gladys is President of the Rimmer Family History Society in Southport, UK. Again hosting are descendants of Elizabeth Blalock & Samuel Rimmer, Sr. (1786-1861), who was James & Phoebe's sixth child. Samuel's oldest sibling JOHN RIMMER & family moved about 1824 to near Dandridge, and had large families. Presiding is reunion founder Buford Rimmer. Arrive starting 10:45. Meal at noon. Conclude 4:30. Location is again the First Baptist Church, 815 Davie Street, Statesville, NC. No covered dish! Again, this year's catered meal requires pre-registration, but no costs or fees.
