Robert Welch is not a direct line for me so not sure if the info I have collected on him will help you. His daughter, Eliza Ann married Orval Bradley Thomas on 1 Apr 1866 at Robert Welch's home in Springvale, Jefferson Co, TN. Orval was the brother of John Kincheloe Thomas; son of Thomas Thomas and Louisa Kincheloe Thomas. Eliza's parents were Robert Welch and Jane Goan (stated on Eliza's death certificate).
Shadrach Welch (Eliza's brother) was a witness for Orval's Civil War pension. Shadrach had been acquainted with Orval since boyhood.
Let me keeping looking thru my notes. I thought I had other info on the Welch line.
