October 25, 1946; married November 25, 1897 NC Emma Cornelia Jones, b. abt 1875 Watauga Co. NC ; d. October 28, 1963, daughter of Rev. E. G. Jones - Emma married in 1952 (2) James A. Harrison.
Note that there are conflicting dates: Online draft registration gives Luther's date of birth as Dec 26, 1876; online obituary gives date as Dec 2, 1876.

Coeur d' Alene Press (Idaho), Saturday, October 26, 1946: MR. EGGERS DIES Had Resided at Post Falls for 40 years. Following a year's illness, L. D. Eggers, 69, a resident of Post Falls for 40 years, died late yesterday at a Coeur d' Alene hospital. Mr. Eggers came to this area from North Carolina, where he was born Dec. 2, 1876. Survivors are his widow, Emma at home; three sons, Opie and Everett Eggers of Spokane and Randy Eggers of Portland; two daughters, Mrs. Nona Davis of Post Falls and Mrs. Beulah Hodge of Spokane; and 14 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 o'clock from the Mooney-English chapel with the Rev. R. L. Hoskell of Spokane officiating. Interment will be in Forest Cemetery.
Coeur d' Alene Press, Tuesday, October 29, 1963 MRS. HARRISON SUCCUMBS HERE Mrs. Emma C. Harrison, 88, Post Falls resident since 1906, died at a local nursing home yesterday, a week following the death of her husband, James A. Harrison, 94. Mrs. Harrison, the former Emma Jones, was born in Wautauga County, N. C. and was married to Luther Eggers in 1897 in North Carolina. He died in 1946 and his widow married Mr. Harrison in 1952. Mrs. Harrison was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors are three sons, Opie L. Eggers, Spokane, Rondy F. Eggers, Oroville, Calif., and Everett E. Eggers, Opportunity, Wash.; two daughters, Mrs. Nona Lutes, Post Falls, and Mrs. Beulah Hodge, Spokane, 17 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
