I'm looking for descendants of William A. and Sarah Ellen Cress Brown. William was born in 1854 in Ashe County, NC and died in 1931 in Johnson County, TN. Ellen was born in 1855 and died in 1923 in Johnson County, TN. They were married 23 Dec 1875 in Solitude, NC. I believe that William may have had something to do with the school system, and he was city recorder from June 1921 to May 1929.

Willard B., b. 7 Sep 1878 m. Annie Farris (?) Dec 1911, d. 24 Nov 1925
Lula E., b. 7 Aug 1880, d. 25 Feb 1899
Jennie L., b. 15 May 1887 m. C.H. Thompson 3 Jan 1906, d. 9 Apr 1923
Robert B., b. 11 Jun 1889 m. Sarah Hattie Adams, d. 23 Feb 1979
Mary C., b. 19 Jun 1891 m. Howard Dunn, d. 5 Sep 1968
Nannie F., b. 23 Apr 1894 m. Grover Scott 28 Jun 1914, d. 23 Nov 1978
Walter H., b. 13 Jun 1897, d. 12 Oct 1900
I am very interested in any photos that may exist. I understand that the family home burned, and therefore photos may be very scarce, but I am hoping that someone has information on the family, or anything at all to let me add to my own files. I am the great-granddaughter of Robert Bruce and Sarah Hattie Adams Brown.
