Long/Langston/Longley/Maples/Atchley families

Would someone please check the old Knox Co., land
records etc. I have been told that my gggggrandfather
John Long 1 owned and operated a Ghist Mill on the
French Broad River. He also was a logger and sent the logs
down the river to Knoxville when it was just a small
community.
This was back in the late 1700's. Any information about
his Mill on Mill Creek or records in Knoxville about his
logging business would be appreciated. His son-in-law,
Thomas Langston, who had married his daughter Nancy "Long"
Langston, ran the business after John died. Later, the
land was owned by an Atchley family member.
Thank You
His son was Rev. George Long 1.
The Mill was called the Overshot Mill.
