Hi Beverly: I recently have been researching the Gibson family for a friend. I am not related to the Gibsons.
This James Gibson 1805 I believe is one of the sons of Sinclair (or St Clair) Gibson who came to America around 1791 Baltimore, MD then went to Deer Twp. Allegheny Co.PA. He was from Ulster, Ireland. My friend had a list and it showed that James was the son of Sinclair.
James's son James Cahill Gibson was in Maury Co.TN in 1870,1880. He moved to Brazoria Co.TX by 1900 and was still there in 1910 a widower. This I got from the census rolls. Would love to exchange any info with you.
